The Intensive Care Unit is a 24-bed state-of-the-art facility, providing care for a complex mix of patients, both adult and paediatric.

Barwon Health provides care to adult medical and surgical patients, including patients who require ECMO, mechanical ventilation, haemofiltration, post cardiac surgery, general surgery, oncology, haematology and medical patients.

Paediatric patients requiring mechanical ventilation, bubble CPAP or high flow oxygen and other respiratory needs are also cared for.

The ICU has two 12-bed pods staffed and supported by multi-disciplinary teams 24 hours, seven days a week.
